ATTENTION
CORN-ALLERGIC CONSUMERS/PATIENTS
The FDA declares that "CORNSTARCH" is not
only void of allergenic corn proteins, but it is actually essential for human
survival, 21CFR184.1857. [FALSE]
The
FDA declares that corn sugar manufactured from CORNSTARCH, a/k/a
dextrose/D-glucose, is "biochemically identical to glucose [naturally
present in your body that is essential for your survival] at the molecular
level," molecular formula C6H12O6.
Reference:
Code of Federal Regulation 21CFR184.1857
"(a) Corn sugar (C6H12O6, [emphasis added] CAS Reg. No. 50-99-7),
commonly called D-glucose or dextrose, is the chemical α-D-glucopyranose [grape
sugar??]. It occurs as the anhydrous [DRY] or the monohydrate [LIQUID] form
and is produced by the complete hydrolysis of corn starch [emphasis
added] with safe and suitable acids or enzymes, followed by refinement and
crystallization from the resulting hydrolysate."

CORNSTARCH:
polysaccharide;
contains allergenic corn proteins, molecular formula = C27H48O20.
GLUCOSE: natural blood sugar;
contains no allergenic food proteins, molecular formula = C6H12O6.
[Perhaps
it is time to correct the molecular formula applied to 21CFR184.1857 from C6H12O6 to
C6H14O7.]
Note: “Hydrolysis” only
means that water has been added to the dry substance to convert it into a
liquid substance. It does NOT eliminate allergenic proteins INTRINSIC to cornstarch.
