This product
is a glucose (blood sugar)-elevating agent that can adversely affect consumers
with diabetes. It can also prove fatal
to consumers with an IgE-mediated allergy to corn; e.g., dextrose is the
chemical name for cornstarch sugar/D-glucose, 21CFR184.1857. Dextrose is utilized exclusively as a glucose
(blood sugar)-elevating agent in IV drips, which is why these IV drips are
contraindicated for administration to corn-allergic patients in the package
insert due to the presence of allergenic corn proteins. By claiming these
products contain "glucose" (natural blood sugar), they are falsely
claiming that dextrose (cornstarch sugar/D-glucose) is "naturally present
in every living organism and is essential for their survival."
Code of
Federal Regulation 21CFR184.1857 clearly identifies dextrose/D-glucose as
cornstarch sugar.
(a) Corn
sugar . . . commonly called D-glucose or dextrose, [emphasis added] . . .
It occurs as the anhydrous or the monohydrate form and is produced by the
complete hydrolysis of corn starch . . . [emphasis added].

sugar naturally present in every living organism essential for their
survival. Therefore, they are
leading consumers to believe that this product is "essential for their
survival."
